Newly appointed Director General of the Tax Administration of Republic of Srpska, Ms. Zora Vidovic, has assumed office on 20 June 2011. Ms. Vidovic is an economist with long-standing experience in the business sector, public administration, and banking sector. In addition, Ms. Vidovic acted as an MP during two previous terms of the National Assembly of Republic of Srpska.

Along the lines of the Agreement on cooperation in the field of direct
taxes, the delegation of the Tax Administration of Republic of Serbia paid a
one-day visit to our Administration.Main topics of the discussion between representatives of tax authorities
of Serbia and Republic of Srpska included education and
communication affairs, as well as international cooperation and logistics. Today’s meeting reaffirmed the importance of
this field of work in regards to transparency of operations of tax
administrations.

Banja Luka – On 11–12
April 2001, the International Monetary Fund Fiscal Affairs Department (IMF FAD)
technical mission, conducting the BiH tax administrations analysis, visited the
Tax Administration of Republic of Srpska. The mission aims to assess the level of
progress in building modern tax administrations and provide recommendations in
regards to strategy for their further modernization.
IMF representatives, led by Mr. Thomas Story, had an opening meeting
with the acting DG of Tax Administration of Republic of Srpska, Mr. Mile
Banika, and were informed about organization, activities, and priorities in
TARS. Additional meeting were organized with assistant directors in different
sectors in TARS, as well as with RC Banja Luka and LO Laktasi.
Close out meeting with the IMF mission took place on 12 April, where
they briefed the acting DG of TARS about their impressions and conclusion
regarding issues such as tax legislation issues, tax audit, risk management,
and compliance, which will also be supplied in the form of a report.

Banika, acting Director General of the Republic of Srpska Tax
Administration, Dr. Dragutin Radosavljevic, Director General of the
Serbian Tax Administration, aActing Director General of the BiH Indirect
Taxation Authority Mr. Miro Dzakula, Director General of the FBiH Tax
Administration Mr. Midhat Arifovic, Ms Mojca Centa-Debeljak Director
General of the Slovenian Tax Administration, and Mr. Dejan Marinovic
Director General of Tax Administration of Montenegro have signed a
Regional Cooperation Agreement in the field of tax administration,
providing the legal framework for exchange of relevant information.
The acting DG of the Republic of Srpska Tax Administration, Mile Banika,
sees the Agreement as a new momentum in regional cooperation and a
large step forward for the Region, acknowledging to the public and the
taxpayers that this type of cooperation constitutes a warning to those
involved in tax fraud or other illegal activities.
Parties have agreed to mutually cooperate in the following fields:
- improving existing cooperation,
- exchange of experiences and best practices, initiatives, programs,
publications, work organization and methodologies in tax audit,
- risk management,
- information systems and e-commerce,
- tax audit and control,
- voluntary compliance,
- communications,
- training of employees and human resources management, as well as
- organization of joint projects and activities to stimulate,
improve, and exchange experiences for the benefit of all parties
involved.
